Indian Films in the Rs 1,000 Crore Club: Wild Fire on Theaters

 



With its breathtaking success, Pusha 2, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, has become the fastest Indian film to enter the prestigious Rs 1,000 crore club, achieving this milestone in just six days. This remarkable accomplishment sets a new standard for Indian cinema. Let’s take a closer look at other iconic Indian films that have earned their spot in this exclusive club.  



 Dangal  

Released in 2016, Dangal was the first Hindi film to join the Rs 1,000 crore club. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film narrates the inspiring story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, a wrestling coach, and his daughters, Geeta and Babita, who went on to become wrestling champions. With a worldwide box office collection of Rs 2,070.3 crore, the film received massive acclaim, especially in overseas markets like China.  


Baahubali 2: The Conclusion  

SS Rajamouli’s 2017 epic, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, was the first regional film to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark. Starring Prabhas and an ensemble cast, the film earned Rs 1,788.06 crore globally, cementing its legacy as a cinematic masterpiece.  

                                             


 RRR  

Another SS Rajamouli creation, RRR, brought global recognition to Indian cinema. Featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film collected Rs 1,230 crore worldwide. Its exceptional music earned it both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, further boosting its international appeal.  

                                        


 KGF: Chapter 2  

Prashanth Neel’s KGF: Chapter 2, released in 2022, became the first Kannada film to enter the Rs 1,000 crore club, amassing Rs 1,215 crore globally. This Yash-starrer, known for its larger-than-life storytelling, is also the most expensive Kannada film ever made.  

                                                      


 Kalki 2898 AD  

In 2024, Kalki 2898 AD, featuring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, joined the club with a worldwide collection of Rs 1,042.25 crore. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film boasts an impressive cast, including Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.
